Ultra Omega-3 Plus fish oil is concentrated marine, providing enriched levels of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, 625 mg) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, 245 mg) and 82 mg of other Omega 3's for a total of 952mg per capsule. Compared to regular fish oil, Ultra Omega-3 is lower in saturated fatty acids and higher in levels of EPA and DHA. EPA and DHA are important in the regulation of normal blood lipoprotein and healthy cholesterol metabolism, as well as normal immune function, acting as precursors for anti-inflammatory compounds called prostaglandins. Overall, the Ultra Omega-3’s in fish oil support healthy levels of cholesterol in addition to heart, brain and joint health.
